I honestly can’t recommend the team at Brookswood Automotive enough! From the moment I first called, everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. They kept me updated throughout, were completely transparent about the work that needed doing, and made what could have been a stressful experience feel so straightforward and reassuring. They managed to get everything sorted on my car and ready for its MOT, all within just a few days of my initial call, which I really appreciated. The staff genuinely went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after and kept informed every step of the way. A special mention to Jay, who carried out the work to such a high standard and got everything sorted in a really timely manner. It was clear that he took pride in his work and wanted to make sure everything was right before handing the car back. I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Brookswood Automotive garage. From start to finish, the team was professional, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was done to the highest standard. As a woman, it can sometimes be difficult to know whether you're being treated fairly or given honest advice when it comes to car repairs. However, I felt completely at ease here. They were transparent, respectful, and took the time to explain everything clearly without any pressure. The quality of the work was outstanding, and they kept me informed throughout the whole process. It's clear they take pride in what they do, and the attention to detail really shows. I took my 3 series in for a service and to check out a few little issues. They were able to get me booked in quite quickly and whilst I waited kept me updated with progress and info. This is the first time I used Brookswood and I found them friendly, professional and very very helpful. I will definitely use them again! Had a window regulator replaced on Jag XF. All sorted and paid less than what was originally quoted. I found the staff very professional with great customer service skills. They even removed two dodgy wheel nuts that I couldn’t remove at no extra cost. I would 100% recommend and will definitely use again (hopefully not too soon!) Thanks again guys 👌🏻

An MOT checks the parts of your car that affect safety and emissions. That includes brakes, steering and suspension, lights, tyres, the exhaust and emissions, seatbelts, wipers, the windscreen and the horn. It is a condition check on the day, not a service, so it does not cover engine, clutch or gearbox wear.

You normally pay for the MOT after the test is completed, when you collect the car. If your car fails and needs repairs, we always explain what is required and give you a clear quote first, you only pay for repair work you have approved, and qualifying retests with us are free.

A few quick checks help avoid easy failures. Make sure all lights work, top up screen wash, check tyre tread and pressures, and clear the windscreen and number plates. Test the horn, wipers and seatbelts, and sort any warning lights on the dashboard beforehand. If in doubt, book a pre-MOT check with us.

The MOT is a legal safety and emissions check with a pass or fail result. A service is preventative maintenance, typically an oil and filter change, fluid top-ups and a multi-point inspection of brakes, tyres and suspension. Booked together, they give you both a road-legal certificate and a car that runs reliably.
